If you are having problems with your dog using the dog door, you should know that this is not an isolated problem. In fact, this problem is one of the most common problems dog owners encounter. The reason for this is that most dogs do not understand why they have to use dog doors. They just seem to understand that there is a dog door so they will automatically go take care of it. However, if you want to train your dog how to use dog doors then you should keep reading.

If you want to know how to train a dog to use a dog door then you should first ask yourself if your dog is not feeling secure. This is especially true if you have just brought your dog home from the dog park. If you notice that your dog is not feeling very safe then it might be a sign that your dog does not trust humans. You can easily solve this problem by simply moving some rocks or dirt to create some distance between you and your dog.

The next step on how to train a dog to use a dog door is to tell your dog to “Sit.” Of course, you will have to repeat this a couple of times but make sure that your dog understands what you are saying. You should then show your dog that the door is for his own good. If your dog stays put and follows your command then you know you are doing something right. Just continue training and these dog training tricks will eventually work wonders.

The next dog training trick we are going to talk about is asking your dog to “Sit.” First, ask your dog to sit down in front of you. You dog may jump around or even stand on its hind legs just to try and get you to sit down. Once your dog understands what you want it to do, sit down. Repeat this several times until your dog understands.

One of the dog training tricks you can teach your dog is to “Use the door.” What you are going to do is open the door as wide as it will go and hold the dog by its collar. After it sits or lays down, give it the treat that comes with the dog training routine. Your dog will start to understand that when the door is open, it gets a treat. Keep practicing this until your dog understands completely.

The last dog training tricks we are going to talk about is to “Fetch.” This is also one of the dog training tricks that you can teach your dog when you go on vacation. Basically you are going to go out for the day and never come back. When you return your dog will be happy because he is searching for you.

You are going to first go outside and stand about ten yards away from your dog. As soon as you hear a car go by, go over to your dog and give it the treat. Go back inside and wait for the dog to find you. After you do this about five times, your dog will know that if it goes near you, it gets a treat and if it stays too long near you it gets punished by being taken to the dog house.

These dog training tricks are great for teaching your dog how to use dog doorways. Remember to be patient and practice on a daily basis. If you don’t, it is not going to take long before your dog finds it difficult to go in and out of his dog house. Be sure you have treats handy so you can give your dog the treat when he goes in and out of the house. It’s important that you make dog training fun. Training your dog is going to take time and you want to make it something you both look forward to.
