Puppies often whine when they are hungry, bored or trying to accomplish something in their lives. Teaching a dog to stop whining is not that difficult. If you do the right thing and use the proper dog training tips, teaching your dog to stop whining will be a breeze. There is no reason for you to continue to deal with your dog’s whining. Use these dog training tricks to gain your dog’s respect and eventually stop his whining without having to resort to punishing him.

One of the first things you need to consider in how to teach a dog to stop whining is establishing himself as the leader of your pack. Dogs respect the pack leader and will follow his orders. By enforcing this fact to your dog, you can get him to stop whining in no time.

The easiest way to establish yourself as a leader is by being the only one allowed in the dog’s territory. You may have to establish this with your dog through constant punishment, but don’t worry because he will eventually learn that he is in the wrong if he continues to get in trouble. Make sure that everyone in the pack understands the rules before trying to enforce them. Also make sure that the dog knows there is no other dog in the pack aside from him, and that there will be no other dogs allowed in his territory.

Another important thing in how to teach a dog to stop whining is by using verbal reprimands. You can reprimand your dog by using a firm “no” or a sharp “come” command. This will quickly gain your dog’s respect for you, and he will soon understand what you want. Once he understands that other dogs are not allowed in his territory, he won’t whimper when you take him for a walk.

It is very important that you don’t shout at your dog when you are teaching him how to stop whining. He will most likely startle and fear you will be giving him a number of nasty slaps. Dogs don’t like getting their tails slapped so they learn to avoid that happening by staying away from you. Instead give your dog praise so he will learn to always do what you ask. Your dog will also associate your commands with love.

How to teach a dog to stop whining can become frustrating because you cannot seem to find out why your dog is whining. It could be that he is hungry or thirsty. If this is the case then make sure that he gets some food or water before you take him out, otherwise he might try to escape. You can also try taking him to a dog park where there are other dogs that don’t like him because it would drive him crazy. Another way to get him to stop whining is to play him some soothing music.

There are many other methods on how to teach a dog to stop whining and it may take some time to find out why your dog is going through this phase. One method you can try is putting a dog biscuit in his mouth as soon as you come home from work and before you go to bed. This will cause your dog to associate coming home with the biscuit and it should stop him from whining until he gets his reward. It may take a few weeks or days but eventually your dog will stop whining when you put the biscuits in his mouth. It will be worth the effort when you see that he no longer has those incessant barks.

When trying to figure out how to teach a dog to stop whining, you may also want to get him an extra pillow to sleep on at night so he does not snore all night. You should also consider buying him some dog toys in order to keep him occupied when you cannot give him any attention or praise. The more your dog feels appreciated, the less he is likely to whine. If your dog is getting plenty of attention and affection, he is less likely to be a problem pup and can be a wonderful dog companion.
