One of the most important and quick dog training tips I can give you is that patience and repetition are the keys to training your dog. Dogs have a tendency to be lazy, so expecting them to perform an instant train and be done with it is not realistic. However, with consistent and diligent training, you will achieve your goal. So, let’s get started.

Let’s start at the beginning. Patience is very important when starting a training program with your dog. You can’t rush your dog into anything, and you must make sure that he has bought into the idea that he’s going to be a part of it. When dogs are left to their own devices, they tend to do things that are way out of character for them. Dogs don’t want to seem like they’re being forced to do something, so they might take some time before they realize that they want to stop digging in your garden or bark incessantly when you leave the house. As long as you stay persistent, and train your dog every time and every where, you should be able to teach him everything from simple dog training tips.

If your dog is a little slower in learning the idea of good behavior, then you will want to focus on the more basic dog training tips. The key here is to not pull. It’s very easy to pull out when a dog is pulled on the leash. This will only serve to confuse the dog, and while you may be training him to stop pulling on the leash, he won’t understand why he’s being punished when it’s all wrong.

Dr. Sophia Yin, who is the owner of a behaviorist practice in Los Angeles, offers quick dog training tips that can work with even the most difficult of cases. For instance, if you are trying to get your dog to stop barking at the front door, you will need to earn his trust. This can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. First, establish your right to enter the house without waiting for him to respond to your invitation. When he quells his excessive barking, reward him with praise and petting.

Secondly, if you want to teach him to ignore distractions and to listen to you, the best way to do this is through training aids. There are many training aids that can be purchased at any pet store or online. Some of these training aids are specially designed to help the dog learn to listen to you, by playing specific sounds or giving him rewards when he listens. You can even purchase specially made whistles and bells that you only use to train the dog when he starts to bark at an inappropriate time.

Another one of the easy walk and dog training aids is the Gentle Leader. These are small leather or nylon strips that you attach around his neck. They give him a little pinch that he feels like a mild spank but without making him hurt or make a fuss. When he has stopped barking, you just attach the Gentle Leader to his collar and let him go about his business while you take a few minutes to admire him.

A dog training aid that can teach him how to resist pulling is the Leash. Made of strong nylon and very durable, the Leash lets him pull his own weight and learn how to control himself. The Leash fits easily on his collar and gives him a gentle but firm pull whenever he starts tugging at his leash.

The last of the dog training aids we will discuss is called the Stop Pulling Prong or Spray. It is a small metal device that looks like a rounded rubber glove. It has two ends, one with the grip and one with the prongs. It is attached to your dog’s collar and when he begins pulling it, the dog training aid sprays a noxious spray to distract him while you gain control of your dog.
