If it does then put its nose close to you with its paws on the ground. Your dog should not be barking or moving its head towards you while you are training him to sit. If your dog moves its head towards you then you should move yours away from him.

The next step is to simply hold a treat in your palm in front of your dog. You should tell your dog to sit by raising both your hands above your dog’s chest area and your arms as high as you can. Now your dog should simply stand up and sit down on the command that you have given. It is important to reward your dog whenever it stays exactly where you have put him.

Then you should bring your dog’s little legs up under your chin and place your other hand on his back. You should make sure that you are keeping your dog’s belly touching your body at all times. This will teach him that you are his only source of food and water. If you want, you can also use a leash to teach him to stay on your lap.
