Dog training for beginners can seem like a daunting task. With all the different dog breeds around today, you can never tell which dog training trick will really work for you and your dog. Here are some dog training tips and techniques that can help you train your dog the easy way.

Beginner dog training tip number one – make sure that you always start with the basic commands. Having a new dog isn’t always fun and exciting. Whether it is an adult or a puppy, your new friend will truly enjoy spending time with you, however, without proper basic dog training techniques, your dog will never be able to understand these basic commands.

Pet parents can find dog training aids that can teach your dog simple commands such as sit, stay, down and come. These dog training gadgets consist of a small gadget that your dog carries in his/her hand. Once your dog learns these simple dog training tricks, you can use the clicker as a substitute for saying the commands. You can give your dog treats and praise when he/she does a good job, but you can’t stop giving treats until your dog has completely mastered the command. That’s why it’s always better to start off with simple commands first, and then move on to more complicated commands.

The second dog training technique is called the clicker training method. The clicker is a small device that makes a “ting” sound when pressed. It is recommended that you use only a handful of clickers for small sized pets (under ten pounds). This is also the best way to keep track of your dog while you are training him/her.

Most dog training gadgets are electronic, so you’ll need some sort of training wire to hook your clicker to. Keep in mind that the wire must be long enough to get from the dog training device to your hand (the dog will learn to recognize the clicking sound), yet short enough to avoid causing injury to your dog. Another piece of advice that dog training beginners should pay attention to is to make sure that the gadget is battery-operated, or you won’t want to bother using it! Using the batteries-operated gadgets for advanced training is much safer, and can help prevent you from accidentally shocking your pooch.

Positive reinforcement and dog agility training have been around for years, and with good reason! Praising your dog when he does something good, as opposed to punishing him for doing something wrong, is the best way to motivate your dog to do the same things again. Dog agility competitions are a great way to get your dog to work harder and improve his agility, without you having to constantly shout at him. In dog agility competitions, judges award points based on how well your dog runs and completes the course, so positive reinforcement is a very important tool in winning dog agility competitions.

Once you’ve chosen a dog training class you would like to enroll in, the next step is to choose the trainer or seminar you want to attend. Most dog training classes are led by professionals who have years of experience in dog training, so you know that you will be getting expert advice. One important thing to look for is whether or not the trainer attends dog training classes regularly. If the person isn’t certified or has little experience at all, you’ll probably wind up with an inexperienced trainer who may do more harm than good to your pet. Be especially careful if you live in a city or town that doesn’t have a dog training class of its own, as dog trainers who attend regular seminars may not be able to stop by your home for emergency training needs.

It’s also a good idea to choose a seminar that offers some kind of reward system for good behavior. Praise your dog when he performs a trick correctly, and don’t scold him harshly. Dogs respond very well to love and rewards, and they love getting extra treats for doing great things. Dog agility competitions award top prizes to the dogs with the most correct tricks, so if you’re attending a dog training class for beginners, keep that in mind when choosing the treats you’ll be giving your dog.
