Looking for some Chihuahua training tips and techniques? Are you looking for the right dog training methods that will suit your dog? You are in the right place. Here, I am going to share with you some of the top dog training tips that I have personally used to train my three dogs (not just Chihuahua), and they did really great.
When looking for some great Chihuahua training tips, be sure to keep a close eye on your pet’s behavior. Most dogs act up when they don’t get their way, and this is true with Chihuahuas as well. One of the best tricks to start dog training is called the “trick” or “target training”. This is done by sittinguate your dog in one spot and making him “fall down” on his stomach, or lying down. Once he has fallen down, give him lots of praise, and then reward him with some treats.
Another one of the top Chihuahua training tips, that I have successfully implemented in both of my dogs, is toilet training for your Chihuahua pup. If you have never toilet trained a dog before, it can take a little time to get the process down. Be patient. Remember, your goal here is to toilet train your dog, and not make him defecate all over your house. The idea is to toilet train your dog so that he doesn’t have to go potty in everywhere, just in the living room. Here are a few great tricks that I use to toilet train my pup:
When I was potty training my Chihuahua puppy, one of the biggest challenges that I had was getting him to go outside. This is actually one of the bigger hurdles to jump when it comes to toilet training Chihuahuas. One of the biggest reasons why a dog won’t go outside is because they don’t like the thought of their owners or anything else getting in their way. One of the best tricks that I use for toilet training is the “time out” technique. Basically, this is just a short video tape that you can play while your dog is outside that will slowly trick him into going outside.
One of the biggest dog Chihuahua training tips that you should keep in mind is house training for your Chihuahua puppy. Now, I use to be very hazy about house training because I couldn’t find any information on it. I eventually found out how to house train a dog with an “old wives tale”, which was nothing more than an old wives’ tale that I got from an internet article. Basically, all you have to do is get some treats and praise for good behavior every time your dog goes to the bathroom in the house. After awhile, this will trick your dog into going outside on his own. Just be patient with your dog and give him positive reinforcement on a regular basis, and the house training will come easier and faster.
Another of the many Chihuahua training tips that I give to dog owners is obedience training. The reason that I like to use this tactic is because it’s a lot easier to train your dog to follow specific commands such as: stay, heel, lay down, and so forth. Plus, the dog will learn much quicker when teaching these commands naturally. Some of the basic commands that you should be teaching your dog are: sit, stay, heel, and sit-stay. These are commands that are very important for safety and also help to avoid some of the common problems that dog owners experience. It is very important to teach your dog these commands because if they don’t know how to behave appropriately or learn them quickly, your dog can get into some dangerous situations.
Some other dog training tips include potty training and crate training. Potty training can prove to be quite a task for some breeds such as Chihuahuas because they don’t tend to eliminate anywhere where they sleep or any place where a dog training tip would deem as “the right place.” Crate training is another dog training tip that is important for Chihuahuas simply because crate training helps to prevent potty accidents inside the house. This may seem like a trivial matter, but you wouldn’t allow your children to go potty in your house, and why would you let your dog have the same opportunity.
These dog training tips are just a few of the many things that you can learn about Chihuahua breeds. There are so many more aspects of the Chihuahua breed that make them unique, and you should become knowledgeable about all of them if you own a Chihuahua pup. Not only will this make you love your pet more, it will also help you care for them better. If you aren’t knowledgeable about your dog’s personality and what makes them tick, getting a Chihuahua pup would not be a good decision.
