Teaching your dog how to get out of the house on his own can be quite difficult and frustrating at times. While some dogs are naturally trained, some need to be taught how to do things on their own. Some dogs have been trained to do simple tricks, but once they get bored, they become a problem. Other dogs just don’t want to be corrected and will often bark or snap at you when you try to correct them. The only way to really teach them how to go potty outside is with dog training tricks.

One of the most popular dog training tips is for dog trainers to use positive reinforcement. This has been scientifically proven to help train dogs and improve their behavior. Using positive reinforcement dog training can work especially well if your dog has already learned his or her name. Using positive reinforcement dog training will train your dog how to do what comes naturally instead of what you tell them to do. For example, it won’t work to get your dog out of the house if you tell him to “Go potty outside” then he goes to the bathroom and then decides he doesn’t want to go potty outside anymore.

Dogs crave repeat behaviors to keep them interested. A good dog trainer will take advantage of this and work on getting your dog’s attention by using a few repeated commands. When you use a command like “Sit” your dog will immediately sit down in a relaxed posture while responding to the command. It’s important to have your dog sit down calmly because chances are that he or she will be distracted by something going on around them or they may even be hyperventilating. If your dog begins to exhibit any signs of being distracted try to lead them away from where you want them to go and stopping the commands and replacing them with something else. It’s also important to keep up a consistent long line of walking away from the dog so that they are familiar with the sound of the walk away command and will understand that it is an acceptable way for them to end the walk.

After learning how to get your dog to stop jumping on you to make sure you teach him or her that there is no acceptable place to jump. This includes training your dog on a leash to sit when asked to as well as teaching him or her how to respond to treats. Dog treats work much better than traditional dog treats or puppy toys because they are more appealing to the dog.

One of the best ways how to get a dog to come when called involves a fun recall game. You can take turns sitting your dog on a leash while asking him or her to sit. As soon as your dog does what you ask you to give him or her a treat and tell him or her that he or she is good. Then take turns putting your dog back on the leash.

Dogs tend to have trouble understanding that they are supposed to wait until they are given a treat before they should begin to act out. So the key to this game is to make it fun for them. If you have a young puppy this may take a little bit of time, but as your puppy gets older the process will become easier. Once you’ve taught your dog the fun recall it will happen every time you take turns sitting your dog on the leash.

It’s important that you start training your dog for the recall before you even attempt to work on jumping issues. If the dog begins to learn the recall before you have taught him or her the basic skills, you could be setting yourself up for a lot of frustration. Don’t let this happen though. Start learning how to do the recall right away. Use the same phrase or term in each session you practice. If you use “come” you want to say the word out loud, and you want to command your dog immediately, then and only then should you release the leash and allow him or her to catch the treat.

In addition to using “come” or “here it is,” you should also incorporate other types of dog training commands into the mix. You should try to train your dog while in a standing position, allowing him or her to see what you’re doing and respond accordingly. Try to teach him or her the ‘sit’ command and the ‘stay’ command as well. By combining these different commands with the recall training you’ll find that your dog has far more control over his or her body than just about every other breed of dog.
