How to Train a Dog to High Five

One of the most important dog training tips is that dogs learn from two sources – sight and touch. They learn by seeing what they do and when they do it and then touching it. Below have set out some easy steps for training your dog to high five, shake, and climb.

These are simple to teach if you’re consistent and also remember to always use positive reinforcement! “How to train a dog to high five” is one of my favorite dog training videos on the internet. In this video, trainer Mike Geary touch on everything you need to know about teaching your dog basic directional commands, such as left, right, up, down, and stay. It is my dog training tip of the week!

Dogs are very smart creatures and can learn a great deal just by observing how they act. For example, if you said to them, “shake your paw and say please,” while you were pointing at their paw, they would not be able to immediately understand what you wanted them to do. However, if you said, “shake your paw and say please,” while they were standing still, they would understand that there is nothing happening with them in the moment and that they are simply supposed to keep quiet and not do anything that you would disapprove of. “How to train a dog to high five” works in the same way.

To begin, lead your dog into a room and then point to something in the room that makes you happy (such as a dog teddy or stuffed toy). When your dog approaches the object, reward him verbally and then give him his treat. Praise him again while giving him his treat and praise again while he is standing still. Eventually, your dog will learn to shake his paw only when you give him a verbal or physical reward.

These training tips may seem simple but they are important because your dog must learn that he has to behave in a particular way in order for you to enjoy his presence. Also, you have to show him what the proper behavior is so that he can understand what you’re asking of him. Sometimes it is easiest if you do this when he is young so that he will be less likely to develop any bad habits. Try to practice the shakes in private if you do this at home, so that you can reward him with your undivided attention. This will help him to associate good behavior with having his dog treats.

Once your dog understands the meaning of the word “Shake-me-up,” you can begin to teach him to say yes when you say it. The first step is to make him sit or lie down and then ask him to stand next to you while you slowly stand up and reach out your arm in front of him. When you say, “Yes, shake me up,” he should immediately stand up. You can also start in the opposite direction if you want, by saying, “Shake me down.” Keep repeating the sequence until he understands the command.

Once he understands the meaning of the word “Shake-me-up,” the next step is to start rewarding him for each correct response with a treat. It is very important that you are consistent with your verbal commands, even though your dog may not be paying attention at first. You should only praise your dog after he performs the trick correctly in each situation. Eventually, he will begin to understand that the word “shake-me-up” followed by a treat is an acceptable request.

In the final step of this article, we will be covering some more great tips for teaching how to train a dog to high five. You will want to repeat step one, by sitting your dog in front of you, and then asking him to “shake me up.” You will also want to repeat step two, telling him to sit and then asking him to “shake me up.” After he has successfully performed both steps, then you will be able to practice asking him to “sit” and “shake me up” on a regular basis.
