If you have a dog, you must know that it is a good habit to train your dog. If it grows up as an obedient dog, the dog training tricks that you would teach it will be useless. It may become aggressive and disobedient toward the owner. In order for you to get rid of those negative traits, you have to start with obedience training for your dog. But if you think that your dog is still a pup, you should consider some dog training tricks which are more helpful in shaping its personality.

The first dog training tricks on how to train my dog to ignore strangers is to make your dog aware of your presence. When your dog sees another dog, it becomes very alert and it pays attention to any approaching dog. Your dog becomes friendly by strangers approaching. So you can train your dog to ignore the strangers by making it friendly with other dogs. You can do it by putting your dog inside a crate during the day and keeping him or her outside during the night.

The second trick is to create a separation between you and your dog. This is important if you want your dog to be obedient. If you leave the house, your dog may become confused where to belong. So to avoid this, leave your dog alone when you are not home. Leave your dog alone in a room, in a crate or in your car.

The third trick is to get the dog’s attention. This training may include having your dog on a leash. While training your dog, ask it to walk beside or around you. If your dog does something that pleases you, reward it by giving it lots of attention and praising.

Fourth trick is to teach your dog to ignore negative attention. This is necessary for different reasons. By ignoring negative attention, your dog will learn to avoid negative stimuli. Negative stimuli include people, noise, and other dogs’ presence.

Fifth trick is to train your dog to leave its food and water alone. This is essential when you are going out for a walk or picnic. You can make your dog wait at the door while you are coming out of the store. By doing this, your dog will not run after your bag and get your groceries dirty. In addition, if you leave the dog outside, it will learn to wait patiently until you come back to feed it.

Sixth trick is to train your dog to keep quiet. As we all know, the noise makes our dog nervous. However, this nervousness will make your dog less alert if there are unknown individuals or strangers approaching your dog. It is therefore important to have your dog on a leash when you go out in public.

Seventh trick is to train your dog to speak only when you are around. During your walks, you can ask your dog to speak to you. If it responds properly, you can then teach your dog to repeat the word when it is your turn to speak. The repetition must be done in a firm, consistent manner. By teaching your dog this trick, it will soon become calm and will greet anyone, including strangers, with enthusiasm and respect.

Next, the owner should make eye contact with the dog. By doing so, the dog will feel that it is being respected and could start to trust its owner. It will learn to look at the owner as a source of safety and protection. You can thus gain the loyalty of your dog by always greeting and petting it whenever you meet each other. Eventually, your dog will become accustomed to your gaze and will start to feel comfortable about being near you.

Lastly, you need to know how to train my dog to ignore strangers. This is because some people tend to stare at your dog as if it is an intruder. Therefore, to avoid this unpleasant experience, your dog needs to be trained how to ignore these strangers.

These are just five simple yet effective steps that owners can take in order to teach their dog to obey them. This way, the dog will be able to avoid any potential danger and thus, will be able to lead a safe and happy life. With this, you need not worry about strangers anymore. Your dog will surely know how to deal with them and will start to live a very relaxed and contented life with you.
