How to train a dog to go outside on a leash starts with establishing a solid foundation for your dog’s obedience training. A dog should always know how to behave according to your commands. The easiest way to teach your dog that you’re the leader is by rewarding him for obeying your commands. Here are some dog training tips to help you create an effective routine of behavior.

Start by Using Positive Reinforcement: Most dog training experts recommend using positive reinforcement during dog training. This helps your dog to understand what you expect from him and helps you show him what his real purpose is in the relationship. Dogs respond better to positive reinforcements than negative ones. By using positive reinforcement, you can easily teach your dog how to behave well and be respectful toward you, your family, and other people. Positive reinforcement helps make your dog obey and follow your commands.

Reward Good Behavior: The reward system is an essential part of dog training. Whenever your dog does something you ask him to do, give him a treat. Do this several times so he will remember what you’ve done for him. Eventually, he’ll want to repeat the behavior he just performed as he sees you smile and praise him. When he demonstrates that he understands what you want, give him a treat and a high-value treat.

Say Touch: Have your dog sit or lie down. Then, practice saying “sit” or “stay” while giving him a treat. When he performs these behaviors consistently, you can slowly start to say “touch” instead of “sit.” If he obeys and touches you, give him a treat and lots of praise.

Clicker Training: Clicker training was invented by a dog training expert namedesar G. Cesar. Clicker training makes your dog follow a command by clicking a metal probe with his nose. This makes your dog understand what you want him to do. You may use the clicker training method with a bell, which is placed on a bell Ringing, or you may use a bell that you click with the clicker.

When your dog obeys and touches you each time he hears the click, you can start using the bell method regularly. However, if you want to take it up a notch, try adding a treat to the clicker training every time he obeys and touches you. When he hears the bell, he learns that when he obeys, he gets a treat.

Dog Tricks: There are so many dog tricks you can train a dog to do. For example, there are dog tricks to help your dog jump higher or fetch. Also dog tricks such as the “down and sniff” or the “sit stay” that can really help with house training. Also, dog tricks such as the heel bite that allows your dog to figure out other things around him such as not to sit on people or other pets in the home. Dog tricks are a great way to reinforce good behavior.

When you are potty training your dog, always be sure to reward your dog at the same time. If your dog is doing something good, don’t reward him until you see him do something else good, such as a loop, so you don’t confuse him. Rewards help him when he has done something wrong or he needs some additional training. It is also important to always be consistent in your training because if your dog does something you don’t like or you are expecting him to do then it will confuse him and he may get confused and won’t understand what you want from him.
